Mar Gregorios College of Law, Mar Ivanios Vidyanagar, Thiruvananthapuram, is affiliated with the University of Kerala and approved by the Bar Council of India. The institution holds the distinction of being the first NAAC-accredited law college in Kerala, reflecting its commitment to academic excellence and legal education. SMA Legal has been associated with the college since 2024. This association is further strengthened by the professional journeys of several former students of the institution who have been associated with SMA Legal. In continuation of this association, SMA Legal was approached by the college to extend its support as a Co-Sponsor of the 4th Mar Gregorios Moot Court Competition, 2027. The firm was pleased to support this academic initiative, reaffirming its commitment to promoting legal education and encouraging emerging legal talent.
The competition is organised by Mar Gregorios College of Law in association with SCC Online and SCC Times and is scheduled to be held from 14th to 16th January 2027. Moot court competitions play an important role in bridging the gap between theoretical legal education and practical courtroom experience. They provide law students with an opportunity to develop their advocacy, legal research, drafting, analytical reasoning and oratory skills, while encouraging engagement with complex legal issues and a deeper understanding of the justice delivery system. Through its association with this initiative, SMA Legal seeks to support platforms that promote professional excellence, intellectual engagement and the development of future members of the legal fraternity.
